Vamping things up with a bit of leather

I have been on the look out for a leather skirt for quite some time now so I was quite excited when I came across this inexpensive one from Zara a few days ago. I had already envisioned in my head the many ways in which I was going to style it and well this right here is one of the many looks I had in mind.

I plan to wear it a lot in the next few weeks so don't be too surprised if you see more of my style looks featuring this faux leather skirt from Zara because I am loving it at the moment.

I've also decided I'm going to take up sewing using a sewing machine that is, so I can improve the fit of some of the clothes I already have. This is because unfortunately for me,  sometimes the smallest size isn't quite small enough. Especially when you want the piece of garment to be really fitted like the leather skirt I'm wearing. You don't want to know the length I had to go to, to make this skirt appear fitted (covers face lol).

I don't want to miss out on buying certain clothing items just because they are ill fitting and I also don't want to have to rely on someone else to resolve that for me like the dry cleaners or my mother. Which is why I think it will be best if I learn how to sew myself that way I can mend the fitting myself.  The next time I feature the skirt in a look it will hopefully be more fitted without me having to resort to the impractical measures I adopted when shooting this look.
