Gingham Style

Its time for that spring wardrobe and this look right here is a simple get together, great for that weekend lunching with the girls or for a smart-casual do. For me, the gingham print shirt takes on a casual laid back approach to the outfit which is the kind of look I am going for. The gingham shirt is still out in stores so you can still grab your own, the shoes I got from the sale and skirt I got a while back but still might be selling in the shops.

African Inspiration In Shops

It looks like we will be seeing a bit of Africa on our shores this summer. High Street Store Zara are leading the pack with their African Inspired collection for the Trafaluc SS14 range which features some vibrant prints. They are standout pieces that will command attention wherever you go and not for the less daring fashionista who would much rather blend in with the background.

Need Want Now: Vince Camuto...

What am I lusting over this week? Well firstly, these Krystal London Tiger Drop earrings are the epitome of elegance, they scream sophistication in every possible way. All you need is a slinky black number to go with it and you are good to go. A simple yet sophisticated look and with a price tag of £35 it won't be digging deep holes in your wallets, another item that I must have. You can get your pair from Little Black Dress.

These gorgeous heels "Larissa Perspex Court" from Miss Selfridges caught my eye this week and guess what? Like all the other items in my 'Need Want Now' posts, I must have it, like right now!

I have been on the look out for some hot pink heels and I thank the good Lord that I came across these and whats even more amazing is that, it doesn't come with a hefty price tag.  They are selling for £39 which to me is a bargain. I have ordered my pair already and you can order yours too right here at Miss Selfridges.

Finally, theres the  Vince Camuto Colby Drawstring handbag that I can't get out my head. It comes in an array of colours but for some reason (I dont know why) the white version stands out the more to me. I love the gold detailing, which for me adds a touch of sophistication and gives off the sense of a luxury piece which I have no doubt it is. You can buy your own from Vince Camuto.com or Vince Camuto.co.uk

NAIL PAINT OF THE WEEK: NAILS INC. PARK WEST & HIGHBURY

Park West and Highbury

Park West and Highbury

My 'Soft Focus' collection from Nails Inc. finally arrived and all in all I am really thrilled with my purchase. I decided to go for Park West along adding a bit of sparkle to my ring finger with Highbury as my nail paint of the week. Park West is a very subtle grey shade and fits in very well with the spring palette.

I have been wearing soft, neutral and pastel shades on for the past few weeks and with my latest purchase, you can guarantee that I will be rocking some more spring colours for a while.  I am actually looking forward to before the bright bold colour come out for summer.

Kui's Tips- As always apply a layer of the base coat varnish first, then 2-3 applications of the nail varnish of your choice before finishing off with 1-2 applications of the top coat. This will help your nails last longer before it starts chipping and cracking away.

Need Want Now: House Of Harlow Chelsea Sunglasses

Chelsea Sunglasses

                                                              Chelsea Sunglasses

What I'm I currently lusting over? Well these gorgeous sunnies, the Chelsea sunglasses from House of Harlow by Nicole Richie have been on my mind for quite sometime now. I first thought about purchasing them over a year ago but then suddenly changed my mind as I thought the frames would be too large for my face. Fast forward a year later and I desperately want them again, so there's no guessing what my next purchase will be.

I have to say the recent spell of warm weather in the capital has got me planning ahead for my summer wardrobe. You can't really blame a girl, plus summer is coming regardless so why not plan ahead? Thats my 'logical' way of thinking and what I say to myself to justify buying items for my summer wardrobe.

With that said I cannot wait till I get my hands on these bad boys and when I do, be sure to expect a blog post from me featuring them!

NAIL PAINT OF THE WEEK: YSL BEIGE LEGER

Ysl Beige Leger

Ysl Beige Leger

OPI base coat, YSL beige lacquer and OPI top coat

This bottle of Ysl beige leger has been sitting at the back of my shelf for quite a while now so I thought it was time to bring it out of the darkness. A couple of years back I was really obsessed with the nude shade and I ended up with several nude polishes from the various different brands and the Ysl beige leger happens to be one of them.

While I await delivery of the Soft Focus collection from nails inc, this nude shade will have to get me by I guess. I tried my new OPI base and top coat for the first time and so far I can't really tell any difference in quality when compared to my revlon equivalent. It does its job is all I can say for now.

Pastel Shades For Spring

I love it when Nails Inc do these random out of the blue offers. I missed out on the 'Pastel Power' offer last time so this time  round, there was no way that I was going miss out on another one of these offers. Normally they only have the one collection of 8 nail varnish colours for £20 but for today only (while stock lasts) they have 3 varied collections from which you can choose from.

There is the Sugar Rush Collection, the Heatwave Collection and the Soft Focus Collection from which you can choose from. Given that we are currently nearing the spring season, I was naturally drawn to the pastel collections so it was either going to be the Sugar Rush Collection or the Soft Focus Collection for me and lets just say, the Soft Focus Collection prevailed.

I was so torn between the two that I was considering purchasing both collections but then I realised when it came down to the crunch that I did have a preference for the Soft Focus over the Sugar Rush and that is what I ordered. It should be on its way to me now and I cannot wait to try them out. Whatever colour shall I wear first? I don't know, you'll have to wait to find out.  Watch out for future Nail Paint Of The Week posts featuring these colours. I have to say buying new nail varnish colours always excites me.

The Soft Focus Collection
What's in the Soft Focus Collection?

Chelsea Green – silver grey polish
Park West – cream nude polish
Holland Park Gardens – delicate sage polish
Fitzroy Road – mink polish
Holland Park Avenue – glossy taupe polish
Highbury – nude and pale pink glitter polish
St Catherine’s Dock – soft pink polish
Little George Street – pastel blue polish

How To Wear Stripes

Gone are the days when you would only pair prints with block colours, it is now more acceptable to match prints but the key is to make sure they aren't clashing.

A simple guide to matching prints is to:

1. Match like prints together (like I have in the image above)

or

2. Match different prints with similar or complimentary colour spectrums

This way you are less likely to have too much going on.

NAIL PAINT OF THE WEEK: REVLON CHARMING

Base Coat, Charming and Top Coat
Spring has officially begun and I am getting myself ready by rocking some spring shades on my nails. The weather doesn't quite feel like spring yet so I am still rocking that winter wardrobe but when it comes to my nails I am getting myself ready by rocking some pastel shades.

For this week I went for another one of Revlon's colours, 211 Charming. It is a delicate pastel lavender shade which is a nice colour to follow up from last weeks' Dreamer and so far I am loving it.

Although I love the array of colours revlon offers, I find cracks forming in my nails when nearing the 7 day mark which is a tad annoying as it means I am forced to change up my nail paint whether I had the intention to do so or not because by that point they dont look very presentable in my eyes. I will try to update this post when I reach or i'm nearing the 7 day mark so you better understand what it is I am going on about.
