For the third and final instalment in my 'Styling prints For SS15' posts I wore the Zara printed top with a pair of black jeans to create a different look from the previous post, in which it was paired with its matching skirt giving the illusion of it being a dress. The printed top could easily compliment a contrasting block colour like red or orange or even a much subtle shade of ivory or blush pink.

However at the time of shooting these pictures, it was that little bit windy and chilly and that very much translated into my choice of colours thus prompting me to opt for black against this bright print. Having said that, the above look is ideal for those smart-casual soirĂ©es in the spring/summer season and it is also one I would happily stroll into church wearing on  a Sunday.

This is my second post in my mini series of 'styling prints for ss15' posts. For the the second look, I decided to pair the same skirt featured in the first look with its matching top. I am a sucker for matching separates so I nearly always find myself buying the whole set because I feel I must. I like that from afar the two matching pieces gives off the illusion of a dress until you are up close and realise otherwise.

During the cold months, I more or less stuck to muted tones and very dark colours. I am now looking forward to wearing some very bold colours and prints like the one featured in this look during the warmer months.

With the weather getting warmer over here in London, I am naturally forgoing the outerwear pieces and showing a lot more skin because who doesn't like to get naked in summer! I cam across this printed skirt in Zara in early spring and fell in love with it instantly. I just need then that I had to have it even if it was chilly at the time because I knew it would be ideal for when the sun did eventually come out.

There was a matching printed top which I also snapped up as well but for this look I wanted to share with you just one of the many ways in which you can style the printed skirt. I chose to pair the printed skirt with a pale ivory shirt but equally a navy top could have worked well. I wanted the skirt to be the main attraction in the outfit which is why I paired it with a plain coloured top but you could be adventurous and pair it with a complimentary printed top.

I often choose to dress up my outfits with a pair of heels, choosing my Bionda Castana pumps but you could alternatively dress down the look with some sandals for a laid back casual look.

Spring Styles : Double Layer Dress

A couple of years back I picked up this double layer dress for part of my 20th birthday celebrations and being the hoarder that I am, I held onto it for the past few years. Like most items that I hold on to, its because I feel it will come in handy in the nearby future and I dont want to risk the possibility of wanting it low and behold it did as I found use for it to create this look. Despite it being a tighter fit on me than it was a few years back, I was very determined to slip it on for this spring style look.

Additionally it just so happens that the double layer dress is back on trend for the spring/summer season thus it was an ideal piece to pair with my all so favourite spring coat that I picked up from Zara. I love that the double layer dress gives off the illusion of wearing two separates pieces and having a smaller waist.

With the weather getting a lot brighter in London, I find myself naturally gravitating towards the lighter and more neutral shades and ditching the darker colour palettes thus I may be waving good bye to the all navy outfits for a while.
