Keeping it Casual in Ruffles

Some days were made for throwing on a good ole pair of jeans and a top and keeping it as simple as that. A casual affair nearly always involves me wearing a pair of jeans and a statement shirt or tee to complete the look.

"I am amassing a number of  ruffle incorporated pieces in my wardrobe."

My current obsession with all things ruffles is still going strong so much so that it is getting to that point where I am amassing a number of  ruffle incorporated pieces in my wardrobe.

The v neck ruffle shirt is one I recently picked up from Shein. I often opt for a size M in most instances because I want to create that oversized look however I decided to go for a size S on this occasion and in hindsight I should have opted for my usual size M.

While the ruffle top looks perfectly sizeable on my frame, it was a bit of a struggle having to worm my arms comfortably through the sleeves which leads me to think that the sizes do run small. On that note if you are considering making a purchase I suggest you go up a size to prevent the struggles I encountered whilst trying to slip this top on.

Nails inc. Sparkle like a Unicorn Duo Polish

The unicorn reign just wont let up. The unicorn trend is hands down leading the pack when it comes to the latest beauty trends for 2017 and when your all time favourite nail brand releases two limited edition polishes in line with the unicorn polish, you know I had to get my hands on that.

The Nails inc Sparkle like unicorn polish duo has literally been flying off the shelves. It been a bit of a difficult situation trying to get my hands on this pair. The sparkle like a unicorn polish duo features Dream dust and Rainbow Wishes, pictured above and the colours a re sure to satisfy any unicorn fans out there.

Rainbow Wishes has that iridescent finish to it and giving the illusion of two colours depending on how the light reflects off the polish. For the majority of the time Rainbow Wishes appears to have metallic lilac finish however on occasion it can also appear to have a shimmery turquoise finish.

I only applied two coats of polish to achieve the finishes results. I then applied the Kensington Caviar topcoat to seal the deal. The nail paint formulation dries up with a smooth finish as seen in the images above.

Much like Rainbow Wishes, Dream Dust can appear to be two different shades, from a gold metallic finish to a pink iridescent finish. Whilst Rainbow Wishes has a smooth finish, Dream Dust has rough texturised finish to it and glows in the sunshine.

Unfortunately at the time of me writing this post, the Sparkle like a unicorn polish duo is sold out on nailsinc.com but rest assured theres a possibility that you can still get your hands one. All you have to do is sign up to be informed the minute the duo polish is back in stock!

Embroidery Details

"It's an effortless look that can be dressed down with a pair of flats for a day time affair or dressed up with a pair of heels for a night time soiree."

The latest piece into the kloset is in the form of this Shein multicolour tribal skirt that I have been itching to share with you. I am all about mixing colours and clashing prints for the spring summer season and now I am obsessing over embroidery details.

You can't go wrong with a simple blouse and mini skirt for the summer. It's an effortless look that can be dressed down with a pair of flats for a day time affair or dressed up with a pair of heels for a night time soiree.

Embroidery details have been on trend for quite some time and I love that it is still very much on trend because I for one I'm all here  for it. It's of one those trends that fits in pretty well with my own personal style and can incorporate into my looks. I don't go out of my way to follow trends but when it fits in with my personal style then I have no shame in including a piece or two as is the case with the embroidery trend.

Silk Shirt & Cropped Cuts

In this post I am featuring one of seven outfits from my last spring/summer  lookbook over on my Youtube channel. The silk shirt is one of my favourite separates to wear and although I am a fan of the silk shirt, I am not so fond of the hefty price tag that comes along. Thus I always wait till thee pieces hit the sales before snapping up one and that's exactly what I did with this Massimo Dutti silk shirt.

For the first time in a long time, I branched out from my usual skinny jeans and bought a pair of  cropped wide leg jeans from Topshop which I am looking forward to wearing a great deal. As much as I love my good old skinny jeans, from time to time I do want to wear something less restrictive and these cropped jeans will be my answer for such days.  I will be sharing more style posts featuring the cropped jeans to show you how I wear it over the coming months but for now I keeping things simple by pairing it with my silk shirt.

With summer fast approaching, I slowly but surely gravitating towards the vibrant colourful pieces and the feeling the urge to colour block albeit on trend or not. I am becoming very fond of pairing my  green Banana Republic fringe heels with all my red pieces as I have done so in my Off the shoulder gingham summer dress post and Summer thrills and Red Gingham Frills post.
